commissioned by the borough and used by Islington Council, London, dating back to the 1970s–80s
heavy cast iron, cylindrical with moulded rings/banding
painted black, with raised lettering sometimes picked out in white, gold, or yellow
each bin has LITTER in large cast-iron letters around the rim
84cm high by 41cm wide

They were part of a 70s or early 80s civic design scheme, when it was common to “localise” street furniture
