With a Little Help From My Friends

Recycled from a board that had previously been used as a counter top in a friend’s mobile bar. It was cracked, badly stained and full of unstable knots that were falling out and provided a serious challenge to work out how to save the stable parts and turn it into something beautiful, which is a process that has always fascinated me. Having cut away and drilled out all the bits that couldn’t be saved, and allowing what was left to guide the final form, it ended up becoming a support network of sorts - an exploration into interdependence, during a time (lockdown) when our connections to each other were thrown into sharp focus.
