Housi Knecht, a Bernes artist, was born in 1951. When he was 20 years old, he emigrated to Australia. But then he came back and opened his first artist studio in the old town of Bern in 1971.  In 1982 he married Barbara M. Scheidegger.  In 2014 Housi and Barbara purchased the Rubigen Manor house and created an art and sculpture park.
