Bidding ended. Lot has been sold.

Garden ornament, Swan, Putto

Condition: This piece was fully restored by Paul Crowther in the mid 90's and has been with its present owner since then.  Work on the swans neck can be seen.  The chains appear old but are unlikely to be original as with the cherubs left hand and right forearms and hand.  Split to base of swans neck at back.  Small split in left wing and hole in right as would be expected for age.  The chiselling particularly of the feathers is first rate.  The swans feet also may well have had attention.
