Bidding ended. Lot is unsold.
The fossils that
come from the Green River Formation are approximately 60 million years old and
come from the era known as the Eocene. They are celebrated for the
outstanding detail they show. Many species of perfectly preserved fish
are included in the fauna, but on very rare occasions bird fossils are found,
sometimes even showing feathers. The Green River Formation is named after
the Green River, a tributary of the Colorado River in the south west of the
United States.
